"Morning sun near face in the rock"

I painted this scene from the shore line of Lake Superior, near "Face In The Rock" close to Autrain  Michigan.  The sun was just coming up over the tree line and aluminating the calm water and beach area. This scene is challenging because the mood changes rather quickly throughout the day with different shadows and temperament of the great lake.  9x12 oil on canvas board.
